And how do I get to the piles behind the front piles on the shelves?
Or the piles stacked in corners? Or the rough piles, with none of the
books facing outwards, along the 21 foot windowsill in my bedroom
which is the overflow from the library and initial depository when
    I'm herding books?
Oh if only it was that simple. And I don't think I have half the
    amount of books as Blaney.
Yes but that involves taking time away from the books themselves...
Good idea, isn't going to work for me though.

err, and how will that help on the "double-wide" shelves with books 2
    deep?

And what about the books currently in boxes because I've not yet got
    enough shelf-space?

Or the classically-bound books which aren't easily identifiable by the
    spine?

our copy of that is fairly shagged; could do with replacement.
I'm going to try and get hold of a scanner, and knock some software
together. I was going to do it client/server, but might do a
standalone version for people who don't need that/couldn't be arsed.

is this why it seems so difficult to return the ones you lent me? though
i did intend to get to the last London drinks, and your books were in
the car... i'll try again soon.

Memory works pretty well for me too. I have, however, ended up with
three copies of "When I was born for the 7th Time" - Cornershop.

...but it'd be able to do books, records and "stuff"? Could it do tools
    as well?

Same with me and the Field Mice box set. I ordered it online and
    promptly
forgot. Then bought it from a shop. Then lost it. Then bought another
    copy
at a gig, found the second copy and finally the third one arrived in the
    post.
