Just got an update from the solicitor re: MIB claim.

Nothing is claimable if the vehicle in untraced except for injuries.

Not expenses, damage to property, clothing, loss of excess, nowt.

Does your own bike policy not cover some of that?

Looks like I'll have to start limping, and wearing a sling, again,
    then.

Carole Nash cover my leathers and other kit up to a max of ?1500, with
a maximum of three claims a year. I checked to make sure they are
covered on trackdays. The policy costs me ?35 a year

HG punt out their seconds on Fleabay very reasonable prices. I saw the
same model jacket I coughed nearly £300 for at around £40 with a scuff
on the collar from the Velcro, which mine has also now.

Bad form, etc, but when I had my off many moons ago and I had to go through
the MIB, I did get a payout on all the stuff above AND for a damaged knee
    at the time.

They did have the driver's details, mind.

Check with your household insurers. Back when I killed Bambi, mine
paid out for my kit under the acidental damage cover.

  20. Great! I have to come into town on the 6th (IoP, Portland Place).
Could be an opportunity to meet up if anyone's about. There was a pub
nearby when I was there 7 or 8 years ago that sold a wicked and very hoppy
limited-edition bitter. It was rather diuretic and I lost a few kg that
night IIRC. ...unless that was a result of the _very_ strong coffee the
    IoP serves...
