Oh, was it? It's fucking Turnpike 6 as does that. It looks fine when you
send it, then seems to **** it up in flight.

I really will hang up my post editing boots. Or use Google when I can't
    resist.

The thing is, most people who've had the throat job say that they were
gaging all the time and that it was a slimey hell... But if you've
only had the willy job, well its difficult to imagine anything
    worse... I'm not helping , am I...

Given a choice (which I wasn't), I'd much rather have the up than the
down. I don't remember anything about it, which seems not to be the
case for many of those who had the throat/stomach version.

"Lord Frag" said to Lozzo barfed:
Shite. Basically a cannula is a foreign body and as soon as one is in situ
your body will automatically try to reject it. Quite normal. However, a well
placed cannula with proper insertion technique and good care will last on
average 72 hours without any problems. As for Antibiotics, yes there's a
degree of irritation but if properly diluted etc they wont cause a vein to
collapse. Of course this is assuming they haven't given you a gram of IV
    Erythromycin in a 10ml syringe [1]
hmmmmm a mainline iv could either be a CVP line, generally should not be in
situ for longer than 10 days or 2 weeks without being changed due to high
infection risk, or alternatively, a Hickman line, usually used for patients
receiving chemotherapy and can IIRC be in place for up to 3 months.

[1] Not so much of vein collapse in this instance, more, "why the **** is my
    arm going black!!!" syndrome.
