Oh I don't know about that. Lately it seems that ANY overtake is tantamount
to "doing murder". Horns blown, fists waved and JUST because you've had the
audacity to pass some fucking no hoper who can't decide whether to drive at
    20mph or 10.

Plod choose if they're going to send the case to the CPS so they're
the first hurdle. So I guess they essentially start the prosecution
and then the CPS decide if it's winnable. This is North Wales where a
judge has already given plod a bollocking for having computer scanned
signatures (of officers) on legal documents to speed up their
    porc4essing time.

  8. We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the
drugs began to take hold. I remember Colin Irvine

I think 'careless' in the strict sense of the charge is a bit tough,
honestly. Unfortunately, the law doesn't recognise 'idiot moment' or
    'bonehead decision' in its drafting.
Quite so. More enlightened jurisdictions would decide, if the rider
    /driver wasn't a total ****, he'd been punished enough by nearly killing
    his missus.

  10. Strictly speaking, you're supposed to drive as to be able to stop in the
event of something unexpected like that happening. I assume you did, so
that's all right then, but like 99% of everybody else you don't
generally drive like a granny when going round corners - it's a risk
    balance thing.

Funnily enough, I was chatting with BD about this some time ago. In
France it's the reverse. As Plod pops back into the warm when it's
dark, you can generally drive/ride carelessly between the hours of 7p
    to 7am.

It was a 60 limit. I was doing 50 cars I'd overtaken were doing 40
So did they for I many years ago but upon checking nowadays they no longer
provide the service for any criminal offence, which is how motoring offences
    are listed.

Insurance legal protection was equally useless. When I checked they told me
"oooh it's only there to recover excess from a third party sir"

I queried that when I last renewed my insurance. Had to do quite a lot
of digging before I found somebody who could confirm the legal
protection cover was just a uninsured loss recovery service. Like you
    can't get those for free.

The three grand I blew on a solicitor for my case was about the best
money I've ever spent, (especially in comparison with the one I got for
free when I was first nicked). I was prepared to throw 20 grand at them
    had it been necessary.
