Odd/unusual Bike

    IF I remember aright, it was the jet aeroplane in production. Would have
    done some serious damage to the Allied effort if Herr Hitler hadn't ordered
    it to be converted to a bomber, a role for which it was very ill-suited.
    Used to have an Airfix model of one.

    Aye.
    And if you want to see where this engine originally was located, have a
    look at http://www.luftarchiv.de/motoren/junkers.htm - scroll down, 3rd
    picture from bottom, look for item 14 in the nacelle left side of the
    picture "Riedel-Anlasser" (Riedel-starter). Looks quite tiny in
    there...

    btw the Imme did not only sport (one of?) the first mono-swingarm
    designs but had a mono front "fork" as well. Wheels were
    interchangeable front to rear, the engine was mounted on an extension
    of the swingarm in front of the swingarm pivot and thus allowed the
    swingarm to be used as exhaust pipe as well. Quite nicely done, from an
    engineering pov but unfortunately never caught with the general
    public...
