Most places spend the money they need to spend to maximise their return by
pleasing the optimum number of customers. They get to know how to do this
over the years. Some places are non-smoking, some places are a fog.

    Choice is good innit.

Stop calling 'em out and they won't chuck beer on you.

As a recenly reformed smoker[1], I don't GAF. If people want to
smoke, fine, and if they don't like smoke then fine too. There should
be enough smoke full and smoke free zones to please eveyone IMO.

I think this is the only way to do it at the moment. I'm a non-smoker, but I
do realise people like to smoke when they're having an evening out.
Having non-smoking areas in pubs and restaurants is like having urinating
    areas in the swimming pool.

I reversed the extractor fan in the non-smoking room in my fave pub so it
sucked air in from the outside and blew it out into the rest of the smoky
    pub.

    Worked like a charm.

They already do, where I go swimming. The shallow end, the deep end and
    the middle bit.

    Agreed. Complete and utter shite.

To my great satisfaction, safely ensconsed in a cloud of smoke in the
smoking section of the Crusted Pipe in Covent Garden - the old bats sitting
next to me complain. Before I can tell them to bugger off and annoy someone
else the rather tasty waitress [1] does it for me in a manner that doesn't
require an answer. Made me day it did.

Well, to be honest, neither can I.

If I eat a hamburger, there's almost zero chance that it'll make you
    obese.

The ozone knacking packaging and the oxygen not being produced by the
trees that were cut down to accomodate the livestock might not do you
much good mind. Or the native people who used to live in the forest of
course. Still, that won't directly affect the fat yanks or thick brits
    so hey, who cares?
