    The two booster rockets are solid fuel (while the main engines are
    liquid-fuel).
    As far as I know they are "light 'em and stand back" and don't have any
    kind of "throttle".

    Apparently the boosters only run for two-and-a-bit minutes before being
    ejected.

    There is a bloke by the name of Crowe, in Grafton that used to build race
    carts (or whatever he called them). And he had a very impressive shed and he
    was showing me the ignition system of one of his machine (as we got talking
    about z13 igniters.....).
