I'd vote for Kennett not to be living anywhere.

I did notice that they fell on the weekend, I just thought that they'd
put them in order, Justt looks wrong how they've done it, Makes no diff to
having the 2 extra days off though.

    lessee
2 strikes in 5 years under labor
5 strikes in 8 under kennet

    80+ forced school closures
    closures of mental health facilities
closures of hospitals and hospital wards
privatisation of anything that isn't nailed down and nopw its coming
bacjk to bite us with the public transport system
the shitty link and its tolls.
So in comparison a strike for more pay seems an inconvenience
considering that in the "good old days" if we spoke out against out
employer we were subject to fines.
You should have been here hammo
Life is better now than in 1994

  8. Avoiding the question asked, Smee....

2 in 5 does not equal 5 in 8. The way things are going, Bracks will eclipse
    Kennet!
    Opening of many more
    Better facilities in other hospitals
    Made Victoria a better state.
Really? So the union heads haven't changed? The Government listens to you
    know?

    yes it does
and I was not avoiding the issue
the strikes under kennet were spiteful and a fight for our careers
this was for a pay rise.
As for the new mental healt institutions kennet was responsible for them
because his policies meant more people suffered under him.
anyways it's obvious we are not gonna agree so I'll shout you the first
beer b4 pisshead raids the esky.

  10. Ah, so Kennet stemmed the greed?
Interesting point. Why did he come out to "my are" to meet with me when he
wasn't facing an election to support us? We had nothing to do with
    workforce issues.

He'll be getting me some too, or I'll reveal his AWFUL secret!!

    Cheers

    Nev.. Guest

There is a logical reason. Originally they were only going to have one
weekday holiday in lieu (on the 27th), so because Boxing day fell on the day
before that, they chose boxing day as the Monday holiday and no additional day
for Christmas. A few months ago the Vic Gov decided to give everyone an extra
public holiday for Christmas. This being the Tuesday. Because the Boxing day
holiday had already been passed through parliament and Gazetted for the
Monday, there would likely be quite a bit of useless paperwork and
parliamentary time wasted making new laws to change the names of the days, to
the just left Boxing day on the 27th and gazetted the Christmas day holiday
for the 28th... or something like that.
