Oh but of course, all the new powers are _only_ for the noble fight
against terrorism and no-one would *dream* of using them for any other
    purpose.

And criticising the gubmint. Have a look at this week's New Statesman
cover story[1] which happens to be about Shrubland and tell me it
    couldn't happen anywhere else.

[1] http://www.newstatesman.co.uk/, first story in the list, IOW the
one that doesn't cost money to read.

    Thinks.
So if you split your time on the road between bike and cage and no-one else
rides/drives them, then there should be a 'clean' low mileage [1] T5 coming
up for auction at some point in the future.

Out of interest, does Surrey Pol now buy their vehicles in silver like the
Met to try and maximise their re-sale values?

    1. Relatively speaking for janitorial conveyances.

Very clean! Mine has about 77K on it (51 plate)
Not yet they dont but I can see it happening

77K for a T5 is still low mileage

place, which is planned for next year, each of us will be allocated a
colour coding. Greens will be free to travel. Yellows, a category
thought likely to include Arabs or foreign Muslims, will be considered a
security risk. They will get extra-intensive screening, and may be
fingerprinted and photographed. Red will mean that you are on a
terrorist watch list, and you will be detained by airport security..."

I wonder what you have to do to get on the red list?

I am hoping I would be on it, as I am sure is every true blue blooded

Post disagreement with Dubya's idea of geopolitics on Usenet would
probably do it, given the other examples cited in said article.

Hmm, that's me fucked then. And I wanted to re-visit California in the
    next few years...

Very true. Ours[1][2] has just about exactly that on it and is only
just starting to need anything other than normal service items. New
steering pump last year, and I think the rear shocks are not what they
were, but they're normal 'consumables' anyway over that sort of
    mileage.

Sadly it's not up to JP clean standards, needing a bit of remedial
cosmetic work after one or three parking incidents, but it still
    _feels_ pretty much like new.

    [1] OK, it's an XC, not a T5.
    [2] 99 T plate
