NSW: Motorcycle Awareness Week

Discussion in 'Australian Motorcycles' started by Zebee Johnstone, Oct 19, 2006.

  1. Motorcycle Awareness Week is here again
    FROM Saturday 28 October
    TO Sunday 5 November

    WHY? http://www.mccofnsw.org.au/a/13.html

We have TV coverage for some events
    PLEASE SUPPORT THESE,
They are on, Rain, Hail or Shine
    - Ride to Work Day
    - Breakfast Torque
    - Molong

We need good images on the TV to ensure we are seen

We have made a video advert that will be released just before the week
starts. We can't afford to buy a TV station, or even rent time on there,
so it won;t get a lot of viewing, but it will be available on the net.

This stuff works. Since 2002, when the RTA and MAA put some money behind
Motorcycle Awareness Week with bus-backs and bus-stop adverts, we have
seen an 11% drop in cars hitting motorcycles. [stats available on
request, yes it's a drop in percentage of crashes, not in numbers -
    ZJ]
Traffic is getting just that bit better and safer.

    RIDER EVENTS

Go to the MCC of NSW front page and use the links in the "NEWS" panel
OR go directly to EVENTS and pick off events from the sidebar menus
    http://www.mccofnsw.org.au/

This year we have two rides going to Orange. One on each weekend. For the
Careflight Cruise, please pre-register and arrange accommodation For
Molong, the Central West Awareness Ride, arrange your own accommodation
wherever and we'll see you there in Molong - no group rides organised.
There will probably be a crowd in Penrith or Windsor at 8am for a day-run.
It's a good opportunity to Go West and see how the drought is affecting
    this typically wet area.

This is the time to be proud to be a rider and ride well to show you
are part of the solution Bring a smile to other road users, with respect
and politeness We are making sure they are watching you
