NSW Licence question

I finish my P's tonight and I am wondering if I can legally ride without the
P's tomorrow or do I have to wait till Monday when the RTA is open and go
get a new licence.

You have to wait until Monday, unless you've already received and paid for your
renewal.

If you've already done that, then go for it. if not, you're technically not
licensed at all until you get a new license.

Are you on your P's going to your full license? or are you on ya P's staying on P's with higher cc capacity allowed?
whats the exact deal? if your staying within the same license class then you ought to not have any worries. but if
you are changing license class from R P1 to R then its a different license alltogether and you will hafta talk to the
RTA about it. Either way, it's only about 24 hours, im sure it isnt gonna kill you to wait that long to make sure its
all legit

Yeh I am going to from R P1 to R.

The wait normally wouldn't worry me but I have to go for a long ride
tomorrow on roads that the speed limit will be 100 - 110Km/h and on the P's
I can only do 90

I remember getting told by the guy at the HRT training course when i passed the P's test
"it doesnt matter a whit if you have your bit of paper with you if you only have your L's, as
far as the law and coppers are concerned, you are still on your L's until you've paid for a
updated license from the RTA".

Same would go going from R P1 -> R i guess. You could do what i did when i went to
Philip Island[1] and not wear your plates (i was on my L's and doing the full road speed
limit)

[1] dont blame me if you get caught, also dont do as i did and get lost with a group of riders
and end up slugging your bike through some firetrails in the Omeo ranges.
