NSW: help needed

Discussion in 'Australian Motorcycles' started by Zebee Johnstone, Nov 4, 2008.

  1. OK, so Sydney riders get parking. Which wouldn't have happened
without the MotorCycle Council of NSW.

The motorcycle awareness things you see around the place wouldn't have
happened without the MCC. NSW would be the safest place to ride a
motorcycle (you may not believe it but the stats are plain) without
    the MCC.

    And the MCC needs you.

We need people willing to do a bit of work. Yeah, big ask you lazy
bastards, but it's not a lot of work really.

We need people who will commit to a couple of hours a week and are
    willing to do things like
    - read documents and distil the info in them
    - talk to people about what's needed and what can be done, that is
talk about motorcycle safety and strategy and come up with ideas.
    - go to meetings with the government and councils.
    - write letters
    - run stalls at motorcycle shows, hang banners, haul stuff about.
    - work on MCC committees doing things like the above.
    - help with the MCC website.

Don't have to be in the Big Smoke to do some of these things. Just
need to be willing to put your hand up and to keep your word.

THe more bodies, the less work for all.

Some of the work needs people who can time time during the day. Some
    doesn't.

If you are willing and able to help then contact Ray at
    or me at

Or come to the Dec meeting at 7:30pm at the Ryde Ex Services club 724
Victoria Rd Ryde (close to the intersection with
    Concord/Church/LaneCove Rd.)

If you want to help get a better deal for motorcyclists, if you want
to get some employer-attracting stuff about working with people and
committe work on the resume... (young riders I'm looking at you!)

Please pass this on the the various web boards and mailing lists. If
you are a rider in NSW, then the MCC of NSW needs you!
