Actually, Mike, I think you miss my point.

The correct answer to your question above is actually the one that has
the cager fuming behind you.

It should not be the problem of the motorcycling community that we can't
easily, quickly and (to them) conviently) pay out tolls on a tollway.

The likes of the Pommies, gave away trying to toll motorcycles early in
the piece because it was just too much of a hassle.

All the folk that go and spend the money, and make any effort at all to
make e-tages weork on motorcycles are simply undermining the arguement
that we should get a free trip.

Couldn't agree more mate, although the "correct answer" seems a little
academic when the fool behind you is threatening you with violence.

Nobody would be happier than me if we could get tolls removed, but I think
the attack on tolls should be based on their financial/usage/road wear &
tear etc and general inequity rather than the mechanical difficulty of
collecting them, which difficulty I am still to be convinced is truly the
big deal many are making it out to be.

I don't think so - if I can make the tag work so cheaply, easily and with so
little effort then I don't think there IS an argument for free trips on
*that* basis. However on the basis of road usage/damage, traffice flow, wear
& tear, pollution (and on it goes) then of course we should get free trips.
Personally I think the focus on the quasi tag difficulties only cheapens the
very legitimate arguments for free trips by making us look like a bunch or
lurk merchants who'll try anything to get out of a toll.
