There is that. Especially if you were, say, one of these clubs that
doesn't use bikes much, so you don't have someone who has a full
licence that you want to lose.

You instead fit up a prospect...

I saw an short article in the online version of Independent Weekly
which said "The independent Crime and Misconduct Commission says
anti-consorting legislation - the proposed laws would make it illegal
for members of proscribed organisations to associate together - had
led to police corruption in the past and could do so again in future"

Wanna bet how long it will take for someone to offer cops bribes to not
see things they should be seeing? Or for cops to tell bikies under a
control order that they'll provide "criminal intelligence" to the court
(that the bikies aren't allowed to see and only has to be evidence on
balance of probabilities I believe ) that will get said bikies banged
up unless the cops get paid off?

Isn't he licenced here with that then? I thought all licences and
    permits were honoured interstate.

  3. No, even though it pains me greatly to say it, but Nev is right
My son in Canberra mentioned to me that when he had his "L" plates, he could
have ridden my bike around Canberra,
To which I replied. " No you can't"

My reply wasn't what he wanted to hear,
but, I meant that my word was final and not the legislation which would have
enabled him to ride, not my bike, but a Harley of similar configuration.
But, if he ventured out of the ACT, then he would be bound by the laws of
    the state he was in

I think the whole thing about wearing colours is to show that you
score in the bottom 1% in IQ tests. that's what the 1% patch stands
    for innit?

Look on the bright side folks...

with laws like this, and the planned internet filtering, maybe our
pollies will stop banging on about human rights in China?

So why if that is the case were LAMS riders from NSW permitted legally
to ride their LAMS bikes in Victoria before Victoria had LAMS laws?

  8. Almost the same as attending the Anzac Day march on Army uniform or wearing
medals but being an objector to Australia's military efforts.

  9. You have got me there Geoff, but he told me he couldn't ride the Harley on
    NSW roads
Would it be that NSW LAMS were under the 250cc anyway?

No... they were up to 660cc.

I'm wondering if it's something to do with the fact that NSW is a state
    and ACT is a territory.

Maybe being a territory means ACT doesn't get reciprocal states rights?

  13. Already makes sense to others, only you are not agreeing to it because of
    your stance on the subject?

  14. Don't really know Geoff, all I know is that I pay rates on 2 properties in
the ACT and get no rebates because it is a territory
then again, I pay rates on properties in Victoria and Queensland and get no
    rebates there either

I don't think it's got anything to do with that. I was under the
impression that each jurisdiction honoured the licencing conditions of
other jurisdictions even when they differed from the laws of that state.
A 16/17yo with a drivers licence issued in SA or NSW has always been
allowed to drive a car in Victoria even though you must be 18yo to be
    licenced in Victoria.

So when I drove straight past a tram one day without knowing that I
had to stop for the little old lady who waved her little finger at me,
I would be excused because I had NSW plates on at the time (and hadn't
yet changed my license over to Vic)?

  20. Betty, Betty, Betty, get back to your wenching duties and start serving beer
but before you do, clean your glasses and READ that I said
not what I deduced and or stated as truth
merely passing on information "I was told"
