NSR125R

Discussion in 'UK Motorcycles' started by oldbloke at work, Aug 5, 2004.

  1. What a fun little machine, very buzzy indeed, but seemingly very well put
together. This one is most certainly not derestricted, I ythink it'll stay
that way for a while too (although I noticed a Remus can in our Ebay watch
    list last night).

Glad I didn't go for a sportsbike though, that head down / arse up riding
position is definitely not me, and the footpegs are too high for my comfort.

I now have to securely anchor it to the garage floor until November, just in
case my lad succumbs to temptation.

Cheeky little bugger told me if I bin it I buy it too, which is a bit of a
piss take seeing as I have financed the bloody deal.

My neighbours also seem a tad concerned at the rapidly expanding collection
of bikes at our house too.

Two strokes are great... Do you wanna buy a crashed TZR to add to the
    collection?
    comfort.

I don't get on with more upright riding positions since my bikes have been
    sporty.
Our collection is down to four for me at the moment, and two for my Dad :)

    It's an 87 TZR125.

To get it back on the road, it need a right footpeg, front brake leaver and
fluid resoviour and the chain is now useless since it's just been left to
    rust.

    Other than that...

The clocks are broken but the speedo still works.
The screen is smashed and there are general scrapes and a couple of missing
    lugs to other bodywork.
The ignition barrel was taken too with a screw driver whilst I was in
hospital being seen to, but will still work with the key.
The engine runs, but is a bit smokey, so the oil pump may need reseting.

That's it I think. Possibly a good project for a 16 yo waiting for their
    17th birthday.

You swine sir, that would have been a bloody sight cheaper than the NSR, and
all he can do to that is polish the bloody thing for the next 3 months as
    it's immaculate.

    Sorry... :-/

On the bright side, the NSR does sound alot nicer, where as even when this
was tidy, it was looking a bit old.

  9. Ah right, bit more than I was hoping for. Not saying it's not worth it,
    mind.

Just thinking about it as a track bike really.
