seen yesterday on a metallic-grey Aston Martin (Vantage, I think)

    J OO7'S

with the "apostrophe" formed by a black mounting screw.

    Nice motor, mind.

I'm struggling to think of what the actual letters and numbers were.
I would love a DB9. I'd love to just drive one even.

In fact, if P doesn't get me an Aston Marton driving experience day for
my birthday this year[1] I'm going to book one anyway. Or maybe hire
    one for a weekend.[2]

[1] She's had plenty of hints.

I've seen "JB007" on Monaco plates on an Aston around Chelsea. That's
    _definitely_ trying too hard.

Then there's JB07 SPY. On a Dodge Caliber, ffs. Driven by a wannabe-James
    May-lookalike.

JOO 7S is on a silver DB9 auto, apparently.

Pointlessly flash. I'm going stock car racing on the 30th. None of that
    poncy no-contact rubbish.

I saw B1ADE on a 09 Fireblade last weekend. That must have cost him a
    few quid.

Oh, I did too, until I realised it really was "double oh Seven". i.e.
    not zeros.
one of those (again in that metallic grey that) is parked around the
corner from where I live most week days - nice car, until you notice
the entirely blood-red interior, which is appalling. Still, no
    accounting for taste.
I did a "drive a car around a racetrack" experience at Thruxton a
couple of years ago, in a Porsche Cayman - good fun, but it wasn't
fast enough (not really any faster than my RX, actually) - they also
    do Astons etc.

I saw 9U on a 650 Bandit recently. The number was worth more than the bike.
I think I'll save up for five years and get PR14PUS on something with a big engine under a long bonnet.

I think you will find thats owned by the main man of the Blade group of
companies around Oxford and Cheltenham who sell Honda, triumph and
Suzuki stuff, search for Abingdon honda as they are part of the group.

uh huh - that makes some sense.

I came out of a petrol station in Cirencester just has he came past -
he, like us, was just wearing jacket, jeans and trainers. We both
headed off up the dual carriageway towards Gols/Chelt, but I had F on
the back, so didn't give chase.

I'd bloody love one. One day :-/

Borrowed a DB7 for a day many years ago. It was horrible.
