It also looks like it's in rather good nick, and they are quite rare.
Guess people didn't take to them that much and rather bought MGBs and
other, properly hairy-chested sports cars instead of something that's
got (almost) a bike engine and revs like mad. Wouldn't last, obviously,
    much like CB750 Fours didn't ;).

I've been to Margate, and I know how fiercely these cars can rust. I
would guess that s/he hasn't had it for very long and figured out just
    how small it is.

Shit I haven't been in one of those since 1977. Engineer at the building of
the Leyland truck and bus plant had one. Microscopic inside!

That I know, but OTOH the engineering is wonderful for the time. The
engine is for all intents and purposes a bike engine with a rather high
rev limit (from memory, it redlines at something like 8000 or 9000).

Supposedly a University in Germany put one of them on their engine test
bench and revved the bollox of it. 9k - no problem. 10k - no
    problem. 11k - *bang*.

That'll be a new engine test bench then. The engine itself was fine.

Accompanied by the sound of a chisel on slate Timo
Roller bearing crank, ISTR. About the only car engine I can think of with
    one.
