There's been rumors about SX being for sale since before the season
started, could this be the proof, or did they bring Janson onboard to
help run the "new" SB series, or both? Whatever the reason, I can't
imagine the senior VP at Live Nation coming cheap...

I'm sure he didn't come cheap but personally I'm glad to see Roy join
in, he's a very valuable asset and brings a lot to the table. With him
on board, I feel somewhat better about the future of AMA racing and I'm
    not talking strictly roadracing.

He's about the best 1st hire they could've made IMO whether they're
about to snag SX, or not, though I do wonder what it cost to have him
resign the VP of LN. Whatever the figure, I can't imagine it *not*
    being serious money...

Agreed on both points. There are several folks that are/have been
involved with APR (AMA Pro Roadracing) that I hope to see join the new
team. Personally, while many of the people that have been part of APR
are competent, I think that the overall management and "promotional" end
of things just wasn't working. There are a few groups/promoters that I
know that were in the running and that I'm glad didn't get things, from
my personal experience of dealing with them.

I hope that those people that were helping to hold APR together and
running decent are taken in so their expertise can be taken advantage
of. This year will be interesting to watch as that's when they'll be
forming their core group of folks.

I do know that if they think they'll have sufficient grids in all APR
classes without what is now considered the privateers, they're sadly
mistaken. I don't think they're stupid enough to think that ALL teams
will have full, high-profile sponsors. There will be small
owner-sponsored teams and racers, just like there is in every form of
motorsport except probably F1 and MotoGP. Even NASCRAP has Robby Gordon
    doing his own thing.

Whether DMG is the perfect fit or not is now a moot point. It's their
game with numerous genres of two wheeled racing and I truly hope that
things are better. I live on the left coast of the USA and would also
like to be able to see a flat track race without driving north to WA.

It'll be interesting to see what unfolds in the near future. I think a
lot more will be determined by the time the GP circus comes to Laguna in
    a few months time.

When DMG's offer said everything I heard the bidding process was pretty
much over and the "Dinger" kind of said as much too. They wash their
hands of everything without the worry that Hill-climb's, SuperMoto,
ATV's, or for that matter, Dirt Track gets left to twist in the wind,
definitely a win, win deal for the AMA and I think for ALL of us too..
There's a certain amount of blood letting with any takeover/buyout and
we both know that'll happen in this case as well, but you're right,
there were some very competent nuts and bolts folks and I imagine
Edmundson not only knows that, but knows who too..
I think that statement was more a vision of the direction they want, it
damn sure didn't get that way in NASCAR overnight and it's not gonna
happen with bikes either, but in a few years, or so it might..
I don't like monopoly's, hell, who does? But anyone who really loves
'Merkan 2 wheeled racing as a sport knows it needs to grow to survive
and there's little doubt these are the best folks ever to make that
happen and given what we've had to endure for sooo long, why anyone
would lament their arrival is beyond me. That it looks like they're
going to control most, if not all of it bodes well too, at least at
    this particular point in time..

Hey, I'm down in Florida and if it wasn't for the Speedweek GNS's and
Hotshoe's we'd have Zip-track, so, I know where you commin' from!
Could be, but I'd imagine by Labor Day for sure...
