it's time to fire up the bikes after a winter of neglect. Escpecially as I was reminded this morning that TOGtours isn't so far in the future anymore. So, apart from optimating the batteries - any suggestions of what I'll need to do to get both ZZR11 and B12 to fire up? -- Dnc B1200 - +30bhp ~|~ ZZR1100 - faster when upright V2300 - flat cap and rug ~|~ A6 2.5TDi V6 Quattro Sport MIB#26 two#54(soiled) UKRMMA#26 BOTAFOT#153 X-FOT#003
Certainly am. Either the ZZR11 or the Audi, depending on whether the ZZR is ready, the missus has had sufficient pillion time before hand[1] and the weather. IANTog, and I don't know. Surplus to my requirements y';see. [1] I'm not sure that hooning from here, all through NL, BE and into France is the most ideal first journey as a pillion! -- Dnc B1200 - +30bhp ~|~ ZZR1100 - faster when upright V2300 - flat cap and rug ~|~ A6 2.5TDi V6 Quattro Sport MIB#26 two#54(soiled) UKRMMA#26 BOTAFOT#153 X-FOT#003
Was about to post the same. Does surprise me the number of people who expect thier bikes not to work. The GSXR started up first time after 4 months of sitting in a garage.
Your optimism astounds me. I hope you're right, I fear you are not. -- Dnc B1200 - +30bhp ~|~ ZZR1100 - faster when upright V2300 - flat cap and rug ~|~ A6 2.5TDi V6 Quattro Sport MIB#26 two#54(soiled) UKRMMA#26 BOTAFOT#153 X-FOT#003
Mine have been without the luxury of a garage, so outside, wind, rain, snow, ice and cos I are a lazy bastard, I didn't do anything smart like drain the carbs etc. I'll be amazed if either start first time. -- Dnc B1200 - +30bhp ~|~ ZZR1100 - faster when upright V2300 - flat cap and rug ~|~ A6 2.5TDi V6 Quattro Sport MIB#26 two#54(soiled) UKRMMA#26 BOTAFOT#153 X-FOT#003
For the B12, you will most likely need to add a new set of plugs. They appear to not like their plugs if they haven't been run up regularly. Drain carbs, check airfilter, check oil (change, perhaps?) and clear any nests or small children from the alleged "silencer". -- Cheers! Well, to be fair the GSXR has FI so carbs not an issue. I did leave my old 6R out over one winter with nothing more than a cheap cover. That had carbs and I have no clue about how to go about draining them . 3/4 mths later, charged battery, and it fired up no problems.
