Now that's what I call speeding

We did all this before when someone posted a link to a ZX10R rider
behaving in the approved manner. I think it was only people who've
ridden a sports bike at speed that agreed his speedo was in mph
    whereas the unbelievers reckoned kph.
Is this a challenge I see on the horizon?

Ah, but I never have and I am still to be completely convinced it was
    KPH.
Isn't throwing down challenges your department?

BTW, if I thought the quack would allow me a road race licence again and
I wouldn't need to do all the latest ACU preliminary stuff I would have
been up for the Jurby endurance race ;-)

I'm not convinced either way from the video. Certainly the high speeds
did seem to be accompanied with the sort of blurring of vision I'd
expect, and the revs/speed ration seemed about right too.

In fact there's nothing really to suggest it was in khp...

Naturally, after reading this, he'll give himself up.
So long as he didn't film himself leaving home he should be Ok.

  9. If you listen to the engine revs and note the gear changes you can
count them , at 109 mph you would realistically only be in second gear
on an r1 to run at anywhere near those revs , he seemed to be in either
    5 or 6 gear

It also looks as though he is going downa slight gradient so his
acceleration curve would be much quicker than normal for the bike

Granted, but as the clip starts though, 30 xph is indicated. Having
recently driven through several villages in the Pyrenees with 30 KPH
limits (enforced effectively by frequent FOAD speed humps) I am not
convinced we are seeing less than 20 MPH then.

  13. The bit at the beginning in traffic is the give away surely? They are
poodling along behind a lorry or two at traffic speeds of around just
under an indicated 35-40. MPH seems plausible. If it were kph it would
be a real speed of 20-25 which is too low.

You've never followed a truck up one of the hills on the Woodhead
pass. I used to do it up to 4 times a day in my van when I lived in
    Worksop.

I posted, earlier, a couple of crappy mobile-phone video clips taken
from the pit wall last week. You were all doing a damn site more than
that, and some of them just inches apart.

Yeah, I know it's not on the road, but I might suggest that the sort
of people to video themselves at 176mph are quite probably also the
sort of people who'd ride that close at a ton thirty...

  17. This is true but I have followed similar lines of traffic up similar
hills in Sunny Essex, though round here hills like that are marked as
dangerously steep inclines and people get dizzy from going up them.

    and...

Am I right or wrong in my assumption of the speed of the convoy?

Independent thought I am sure. Great minds think alike?
Though in this particular game of guess the speed tennis I think Lozzo's
latest post may have prompted "advantage Lozzo!"

7% gradient in parts according to a quick Google?
