NoToBikeParkingTax Demo - Mar 31

Discussion in 'UK Motorcycles' started by Julian Bond, Mar 11, 2009.

  1. It's not the wire rope that's the problem (IMHO), it's the unprotected
posts holding them in place. The ropes simply guide you and your bike
to a steel post where the dismemberment/disembowelling can begin.

Oh, and that compulsory leg protector legislation, that was the most
    dangerous too.

... If you haven't lost a limb or two already sliding down the serrated
    cheese-wire.
Never understood this, were the leg protectors worn by the rider, or
the bike, like those old mopeds with pedals on ?

it was on the bike, like a kind of leg version of handlebar muffs.

Ah thanks, what a wank idea.

I'm sure they'd be ok on some bikes, but purely at the owners
discretion, but I can't see them being inherently dangerous, unless
you got your leg trapped between it and the road.

Surely the fairing lower is akin to a leg protector anyway.

Thank you, I reserve the right to give it as wide a berth as possible,
with or without JP's permission ;)

Oh, and give him a swift kick in the pants next time you see him, we
    miss him around these parts.

LOL! I'd forgotten about that. A tad overshadowed in the news
    department, I suspect.

What brainiac decided to hold the Westminster Council Policy and
Scrutiny Committee meeting where the future of the Motorcycle Parking
Charge would be discussed and changes proposed and argued a day or two
before the G20 meetings. Oh, right, that'll be Westminster Council then.
Because they'd said they'd make a decision on the future of the
"experimental" scheme in April and Mar 31st was the last possible date.
