I think they are under compressed air not in aerosol format.
    (Maybe wrong here)

Are aeroplanes powered by compressed air too?

They are powered by jet fuel
but in all technicality isn't the air sucked in by the jet shot out the
back in a sense being compressed?

I know you fixed it, but this topic came up on another list I am on. My
ST4s has "semi-floating" disks, and someone reported a shudder
that sounded alot like warped disks. Then someone came in with this
advice (in response to someone else suggesting certain pads will cause it):

    """
I have experienced this problem on more than one Ducati, with a variety
of brake pads. Converting the rotors from semi-float to full-float has
been the most effective cure. I believe the problem is that brake dust
and other dirt becomes impacted in the rivet that holds the rotor to the
carrier in an uneven pattern causing the rotors to be slightly warped.
By taking a rubber mallet and or even a solid hammer and squarely
hitting each of the rivets you will likely find that each give a bit
allowing the rotor to re-float evenly. Generously spray brake cleaner
before and after the beating and grasp the rotor and wiggle it. It
should move slight and evenly around the circumference. Do this on a
regular basis and you will rid your self of most of this
pulsing/shuddering. Converting to full-floating rotors elimnates the
need to re-clean regularly and provides other benefits as well.
    """

That was certainly something I didn't know. Upon closer inspection of
my front disks, I do indeed find that the rivets (that don't look much
like rivets!) are indeed not fixed, and have a little play or movement
    in them.

Can anyone summarise quickly the difference between semi and fully
floating rotors? I have always had fixed rotors before (and indeed
still do on the rear). Now I see the "rivets" do indeed move, I'm not
at all sure what is holding the disk on :)

    Thanks,

    Mark.

  11. Which part of look up what an aerosol is, did you not understand?

Should I use "harsh week" everytime, or is there something that is really
    getting up your nose?

I have a soft plastic bottle at home with powdered graphite, it's a
squeeze pack with a sort of nozzle tip. I've seen similar in locksmiths.
I got mine in Darwin at least 15 years ago; graphite goes a looong way...
    Which bike shop?
