Not quite dead: Steve H

  1. Having peaked at 143kg and shed (and keeping on going) 20kg in the past
2 years, I'm now wondering if, when I reach 101kg/16st (which was my
healthy adult weight for years), I should carry on downwards into slim
fucker territory and court the heart attacks that seem to plague the
    skinny bastards.
Unfortunately, my rate of smoking has risen inversely - so don't know
what will get me first. That will be next to be tackled, but it can
wait, as I do value a puff every now and again. I have plenty of
nicotine patches in a drawer, but I'll wait until I really feel like
doing it - ykwim, one of those days when smoking just makes you feel
like shit and you decide to pack it in.

    Ace spoke:
When I had my regulation school medical, at age 12-ish, they said I had
a heart murmur - but not to worry, it's probably nothing! and that was
    it.

Another lad in the same class got the same - heart murmur - but *he* was
referred for further tests and ended up on medication!

That was over 40 years ago - a *lot* of nicotine, tar, alcohol, cakes &
biscuits, jam sarnies and bacon sarnies have floated under my bridge
    since then!

I'm on my last PPC now. Next year I get free prescriptions due to
that chronic condition called "old age".
I've managed to avoid that diagnosis, despite my (extensive) family
    history of it.

Indeed, I peaked at 138kg, but then I'm 6'7", and have a naturally broad
muscular build[1]. Going to the gym 6 days a week and eating very
healthily, I once managed to get down to 100.5kg....

[1] I was still a very fat **** at that weight though

  13. Nah I want to argue with him some more. I quite like the guy. For added bonus
points mention soft touch dashboards. He'll know what I mean. : )

Crikey, this is bringing people out from under their rocks. Nice to
hear from you again. There must be a lot of people lurking and checking
in occasionally; shame none of us has time to post 'owt.

Anyone heard any more about Steve?

Does it bollocks. I was on it for months, all it turned me into was
someone who didn't give a shit, but really knew that he should, and
who was therefore keen to reduce the dosage as and when appropriate.

Used it on occasion since then as well, although Krusty's Codeine has
    been more used recently...
