    Yeh, read Seldom Seen
Had a great ride up and back today and paid a visit to Dave. Saw him not
long after the fires and he was in terrible shape. That's history, and
things are on the go again , probably have been for a while and this too
    might be history.
Wasn't in the mood for a cold drink after having a curried pie at
Bruthen..phew, so decided to settle on a coffee. A*rough* coffee. Well there
wasn't really enough, so it also got a bit of milo mixed in, and it all went
into the cup that he washed out in the sink with his fingers.
Not to worry; I`ve survived. So, Dave`s a bit lonely, suggested that I go up
and stay the night. Am sure that he would appreciate visitors. Only about 1
a day calling in, reckons that it is hardly worth opening.
Life`s great out in the *real* world

    Hey John,

Sounds like some mumblings from an old Goanna song. :)

Hmmm, perhaps it does, and I only troubled you with half of it. But some who
travel off the beaten track and frequent this ng and who responded when I
first reported on the fire damage in Vic east a couple of years back will
know what I'm on about. Have never bothered to see if it is shown on a map,
but Seldom Seen, and it won't be seen because it doesn't really exist!!! Ha!
is north of Gelantipy (also only a locality) just prior to where the road
turns to gravel before it continues on the Jindabyne, another 106 kms
further on. Wouldn't try it on my sportsbike.
I'd leave it for others to say, but would suggest that Dave's place could
rate in the folk-lore along with Tintaldra and McMahons Creek.
But then, if your city oriented....

Rockit that's all good and well, and I've no problem with a yarn about
some obscure locale, but have a read of what you wrote mate - there's
absolutely nothing to give anyone who hasn't been there and/or doesn't
know Dave any idea what the hell you're talking about.

Where is "seldom seen" who is Dave - is this some improbably famous
person that everyone should know of ? If you're referencing an earlier
    post maybe

Have never bothered to see if it is shown on a map,
Wot ? So if you don't know who Dave is(1) you're "city oriented" what
the **** IS that supposed to mean ?

Dude, slow down on the bongs or the acid and come back to planet earth
for a little visit hey ?

    JL
    (1) I know of at least 15 Daves of the top of my head, and could
probably name a 100 or 2 more with a bit of head scratching - does that
mean you're ignorant if you make a reference to "Vegie Dave" and you
    don't know who I mean ?

    <sings>
Out here nothin' changes, not in a hurry anyway
You feel the endlessness with the comin' of the light o' day
We're talkin' about a chosen place
You wouldn't sell it in a marketplace, well
    Well just a minute now

    Standing on solid rock
    Standing on sacred ground
    Living o-on borrowed ti-i-i-ime
And the winds of change are blowin' down the line
    Right down the line

    :)

Actually, I was thinking more of "Razor's Edge"...

Got a letter from Davie just the other day
Said livin in Queensland was not OK
Can't find the money just to pay the rent
'nd the food and the herb -
    Well they're just heaven sent

He's been livin' on the Razor's edge
    Tryin' to touch the sun
He won't fall for that same old trick again
    ......

Though this dude was not just up the track from Gelantipy. :)

    Cheers,
    Dave E

Now, now, John don't get into bad habits.
The post was directed to those who know, and they would certainly relate to
what I'm on about, and as I said what was writ was only about half of it..
I'm a bit disappointed that no one has responded in that regard. Personally
I'm glad that I took the time to stop and call in, was only the second time
that I've ever spoken to him. He's a bit different, but not too much.
It is a great mountain ride and just a bit out of the way.
As to the city bit, well it's about a different culture, only those who
venture out and beyond would be aware of it.
From the end of the bitumen on, it is road more suited to GS`s or dual
purpose type bikes. It is far too remote for the average day tripper.
So, there was NO offence intended. It was a true story posted with a
purpose. If there were some from the bloke`s club who`s heads it floated
    over - stiff shit
