    It may end up being so. Not sure how 'spensive they are.

    As someone else suggested (can't find the post right now, sorry) - I
    drilled it and tapped it with two 8mm holes and used a piece of 1/4" or
    so plate across the shaft. An M14 or so bolt in the middle. I did it up
    *really* tight and there was no sign of it moving. Kept turning and the
    plate bent. Tried again and one of the M8 threads stripped. I may try
    again with one of those nice thick plates that I now have.
    Ta. Angle grinder may well end up being the answer.

  3. Theres not a pin or key in the shaft is there , i had a similar
    problem on an old circular saw shaft , only found out after i cut the
    pully off

    Just a woodruff key. It's not that long (maybe 18 months) since I had it
    all apart, so I really don't know why it's stuck so fast.
