Maleny, Monday afternoon. A public holiday and last day of the wood expo
    - lots more cars and bikes in town than the usual long weekend. So I'm
about to leave town (in the cage) from a shopping trip, and there's a
queue at the intersection. When I make it to the front, there's a rider
standing by her bike, which is lying on its side. It's an uphill
t-intersection and I think her legs just weren't long enough to hold the
bike upright when she stopped - I didn't see it happen, that's just my
    opinion.

She's fluttering her hands and trying to figure out how to pick it up -
none of the other bloody cagers had bothered to do anything, so I pulled
over, got out, and went to help. I didn't even look at what bike it was,
but it was pretty new, as was her gear (leathers, full-face, etc). I
helped her pick it up, and she said 'thanks, but I can't push from this
side' (she was on the right), so I reached forward and grabbed the front
brake, held the bike up while she walked around to the left, then she
said 'can we walk it over there', indicating the other side of the
intersection. I said sure, but there's a couple of cars coming.

She was looking at me (visor was still down), and she said:

"Oh, I can't hear you, I've got the music blaring in my ears"

So I just smiled, pushed the bike over the road, got in my car, and
    headed home.

I hope she survives her first couple of months on the road.

Mmmmm im not sure about that comment. Cant be too sure that she wasn't
focused. Last Friday i was riding down to the shops, under the speed
limit which, like most of us, is something of the rare. It had just been
raining slightly and it hasn't Rained here in Canberra for a while. I
was taking it easy and careful with everything i was doing. Came to a
intersection, dropped down to a slow safe speed to take the corner, and
then all of a sudden, front wheel slips out and i am on the ground. It
hit me so fast that i stayed on the ground in the middle of this bloody
intersection for about 10 seconds trying to figure out what the hell
happened. Lucky for me, 2 cars stopped and put on hazards, blocked off
the intersection and people where out of their cars helping me pick up
the bike and checking if i was ok. The lady in front of me said she saw
me go down and wasn't surprised, she lost her car around the corner as
well. There was an oil film on the road. Where i wasnt sure, i couldnt
even see it, even when i was glaring at the area were i had come off.
but i sure saw the effects of it later as back on my now bent bike
riding home after doing what i had to, watched a 4wd come around that
section and slide almost hitting the gutter.

Sometimes i think that no matter how good or focused you are, Shit Happens.
