    Legally, I wonder whether it would be an offence to take a baby in a sling
    (the kind of thing that you fasten to your front, like wot I just buyed)
    on a bike.

    Not that I'd contemplate it, _*obviously*_!

    I think so, yes, on the basis that you're recklessly endagering the
    baby by so doing. I've seen quite a few people skiing with the
    back-pack thingy and often wondered about their safety.

    Don't think I'd risk it, no matter how confident I am that I won't
    fall.
    Well, no, I'd hope not ;-)

    I'll be going for the snip soon, so I wouldn't be able to replace it. They
    don't do comprehensive insurance either, so no repair or replacement
    available :-(
