Nostalgia time

  1. If you want to be transported back to your childhood can I recommend the
short series of programmes about Children's TV that's running on BBC4 at
    present.

I've watched a couple of the programmes and they've been both
interesting and a pleasant reminder of times past.

  2. Thanks for that, it looks like the perfect antidote to the grey
washout of a bank holiday we've had.

I watched to programme about Oliver Postgate and Peter Firman last
night, which centred on Ivor The Engine, Bagpuss and The Clangers, and
which was followed by an episode of The Clangers.

    Great stuff!

Anything about Noggin The Nog? That was really scary!
(Documentaries recorded but not watched yet.)

    No, they didn't cover NtN.

It still makes me smile to think that the Clangers was scripted and OP
whistled the words using one of those slidy whistle things. Plus, OP
was called before the BBC 'bigwigs' after the episode with the swearing
    [1].

[1] "Oh, sod it! The bloody things stuck again."[2]
[2] SWMBO has a toy Mother Clanger, that whistles this exact phrase.

  6. Watched it, then the bonus of a programme on Oliver Postgate and Peter
Firmin and then Clangers! I was making strange squeee noises
    throughout.

  9. and programmes about the Magic Roundabout and all sorts of other stuff.
I'm now watching various clips on You Tube - Hector's House, The Herbs.
All wonderful. I feel about 5 years old.
