Pfft. Happens, dunnit. That's why we're still 19 between the ears,
whereas the wrinkles tell a different story.

  6. Mine Jew you did miss a bit. Taking a packet or two of fags gives you
something to trade with the locals in exchange for a warm bed for the
night, or food, or sexual favours. Something them non smokers can only be
    jealous of.

Oh yeah. A shag for a packet of fags. Now that's a classy wench I am
    desperate to meet.

  9. Wasn't it your ancestors who bought half a continent for a handful of
    beads and a blanket?

On a slightly more serious note. My father was a part of the occupation
forces in Germany after the end of the war the world fought during the
period from 1939-1945 and the tales he sometimes tells of what was
available for a loaf of bread at that time and in those parts are really
rather unsavoury from a humanitarian point of view. I doubt much has
    changed.

I'm sure some Manhattenites think the island is half a continent, but
    it's really tiny.
MITM - man's inhumanity to man quotient, never seems to change.

  11. I was thinking more on the lines of the Louisiana Purchase but that as
    well, and Alaska.[1]

[1]Just think, if it weren't for you lot buying Alaska that stupid
dangerous bimbo who speaks for it today would be a babushka. Hindsight,
as they say, is 20/20 vision.

On a related note, I unearthed a -30/+30 Lucas ammeter the other day
    in the garage.

If anyone wants it, let me know.

Ah yes. Well, those were a bit more than a handful of beads and a
blanket. The French and Russians weren't quite so gullible. The LP was
$15 million and Alaska was $7.2 million.
C'mon. Just think of her as comic relief. Did you know she has her own
TV reality show? Seriously. She quit the governorship to be a media
star. I know we have a habit of electing actors, but her moment in the
    klieg lites is fading fast.

I dunno about the tv show bit but take those two words out of the sentence
and the rest of it is right.
