Haven't read anything for a long while about Northant's "Safety" Camera
    operations along the M1.
As there is no mention of them trapping M1 users on their up-to-date list of
"Red Route" mobile safety camera locations anymore, I was just wondering if
they still do this or did they really stop and now only concentrate on the
    Dual Carriageways of Northants?

Not on saturdays or sundays they don't, it just says "Variable" and those
are the days I really wanted to know about.
However, they don't seem to mention anything about M1 cameras for weekdays
so do you think they have stopped?

Have just been to the http://web.archive.org to look at how Northants police
used to list their presence on the M1 and based upon this information, I can
confirm the present Northants website doesn't list the M1 as a location for
    mobile safety cameras.
That may all be well but can anybody actually confirm this?
Sorry if this seems Off topic, I just need to find out! lol

    I regularly travel between J12 and J15 of the M1 and haven't
encountered any 'Talivans' ... the dual carriageways of
Northamptonshire are a different matter however.

Please bear in mind that this information is worth precisely what you
    paid for it :)

    I regularly travel between J12 and J15 of the M1 and haven't
Thankyou for that. A little more reassurance for me.
As I said, with no mention for weekday operations on the M1 on their website
and the publicity about this controversial all from before Mid 2004, maybe
    they stopped it.
The reason is I have a clean license and don't condone speeding.
However, I went for a drive yesterday morning and out of the four and half
hours I was out there sticking to the speed limit, I let myself go for 20
seconds to overtake some prat who was swerving all over the second lane on
the M1 in the Northants / Leicestershire regions and even though I didnt see
any vans on bridges, I am paranoid I have been caught in my seconds of
    weakness!
I'm trying to reassure myself as much as I can that I'll be OK but it's now
    a waiting game.
It has taught me one thing though. NEVER again to give into temptation of
overtaking somebody. I will be sticking to the limit 24/7 from now on. :)

    Very sensible.
If you've nothing to hide, you've nothing to fear.
You've learned your lesson, but you'll always have this on your conscience.
The only way you can really expiate your sin is by going directly to your
nearest police station and making a full confession. If it's anything like
the cop-shops round here, it'll be shut, so that'll be the end of the
matter. Consider yourself lucky to have gotten off so lightly - if there
were sufficient resources available, you'd be behind bars, along with the
other 40-odd million speed criminals infesting the highways and byways of
this green and pleasant police state.

    You think?

I reckon it's more likely a close relation to the happy clapper
evangelistic Christian. Just some knobber with the (*obviously*)
correct and only world view, trying to 'lead' by example.

Either way, the man is clearly a **** and not worth wasting too
    much time on.

    This is a troll, right?
I can reassure you that theres no need for abuse like that.
Maybe this post is off topic but I searched for info on Google about Speed
traps on the M1 and found references from this forum.
Therefore, I thought that maybe the experience of this forums users would
give me a few answers about what I asked.
What I didn't expect is to be called a Troll and a ****, which is abusive
and couldn't be further from the truth.
I am not a bloody do-gooder christian and don't have the time or urge to
post pointless messages on newsgroups as a Troll would.
I genuinely placed a post on the forum to ask a question.
Oh, and by the way, if I was a troll, why the hell aren't I posting about 10
posts a day to the forum about pointless topics?
I aren't some sad bastard who sits in front of a computer 24/7 getting kicks
    out of crap like that.
Please don't judge me like this as you don't know me and therefore cannot
    make ignorant assumptions about me.

    After Ferrier warbled..
You didn't read the FFAQ did you?
It's more on topic than half the wibbling here.
    And they did.
    But what is truth?
Shame, you could have joined in the religion threads.
Because you're not a regular yet?
Hey, I leave it to eat and sleep.
But some people do. Takes all sorts to make a world.
Oh come on. Life is a process of constant judgement. The more
information you have the more accurate.
    Who truly knows an other?
Oh yes we can. But if you read the FFAQ and don't jump onto any stinky
old bait (I never do anything like that - cough) then you might find
    you like it.

    So you really never speed?

    What a waste of energy.

Instead of all that typing, you could have just written:

I felt sorry for him. Being savaged by Shrek.
A novel aproach. But just imagine having a UKRMer who doesn't speed.
It's a matter/anti matter thing. Stick him near one of the FBC and the
    whole universe could implode.
Any way why aren't you back in work? Thought you were a bit better?
I'm waiting for my ENT appointment at the end of the month to see if
my ear thing is the same as your ear thing.

I am. Short hours to ease me in, rather than go postal after a couple of
    daze.
Went in on the Tig today. Enjoyed slapping blind skoota kiddies, as I passed
them, for not noticing the Tig bearing down on them.
If you aren't spening time holding the floor to avoid falling off, it might
    not be. ;-)
