North Yorks Plod

They really do seem to be a bunch of cunts on an anti bike crusade.

I was riding through West York on Sunday. Lights at red, lane split
ahead/right turn. Bus in ahead lane. I rode to the front (only the two
vehicles on our side of the junction) and moved in front of the bus and
straight ahead when the lights changed (ie I didn't turn right). Modest
speed/acceleration/sound. *Completely* normal safe road use, I think??

In the line of traffic coming towards us was a Plod range rover, I hadn't
given him a second glance. Well shit on me you filthy whore, the **** fires
up his Blues and pull into my path making out to stop me (and the bus). I
considered my likely verbal response to this moron..... and the lack of a
tax disc until 01/04 and surveyed the gap between his offside and the kerb.
Easily large enough for a large Whippet. So I gave it my very best 100m
casual walk with a "can't be anything to do with me" shrug and and once
around him moved slowly ahead with an eye on the mirrors. The sirens came on
but the traffic behind had closed and bunched up and the **** made a
complete and utter hash of trying to execute a U Turn, there being a wall
rather than a pavement. I gave it the Beans and had a longer than intended
journey to Wetherby.

Is the whole country on some kind of "you must ride like a fucking
geriatric" crusade? I'm hoping it's just these Norvern Felchers and that
South/West Yorks are Business as Usual.

 

I'm geting a video system fit to my bike, rolling all the time for just that
kind of ****.

 

Call it "petardcam".

 

I think there are so few of them and so little 'real' fucking about due
to camera shyness that any minor infringement they actually see is
jumped on sharpish.

Well thankfully, not all norven Plods are are bothered by that or I'd have
been a piss easy target as I did the same thing today, but it wasn't a bus I
pulled alongside while in the "right turn" lane, it was an area Plodmobile.

He checked my bike out through his window and nodded to me and never batted
an eye when I rode straight across when the lights changed, slipped into the
"straight ahead" lane lane and rode off.

I think you just got a Yorkshire ****. probably camera'd up for "Road Wars"
or some such bollocks of a program.

For when he goes straight ahead from a right turn only lane, more
likely. AFAIK [1] that would be an offence.

Not that I think it's (particularly) reasonable, mind.

I bet he'd spent about 40 minutes doing one thing wrong after another,
like we all do. And then when it looked like he might get stopped for

True, plus it's hard to conceal much on a bike. Been stopped a couple
of times on routine checks but only when in the car ..
