Yes, though the article I saw it in was about discrimination against fat
people - ie they don't get jobs because people think they're lazy.
It was basically saying Walmart were implying the same thing - but couldn't
actually come out and say it. [1]
And they wonder why the share price is so low.

[1] I'm neither agreeing or disagreeing that fat people are more lazy than
    thin.

Pip emerged from their own little world to say
Brunstrom's back from ACPO duties. Expect more barking directives.

Whatever... having listened to the **** known as Brunstrom falter many times
in the face of very valid criticism, but still refuse to admit his continued
obsession with nailing motorists has gone too far on Radio 2 the other day,
I'd have thought the possibility of becoming known as one of his 'traffic
taliban' would be enough to put anyone off applying for one of those
    positions.

An utter **** who's doing his cause far more harm (1) than good.

    (1) Unless of course you look at it from the perspective of 'generating
    income'.

Me too, but I'm not convinced I'll remain an ex-smoker for the rest of
    my life.

Likewise, mainly because I enjoy the odd cigar.

In this case it's a forced stop due to next years racing. Maybe it'll
become permanent in time but I'm happy to treat fags like cream cakes.
I won't sit there and eat them all the time, but one every now and
then is not worth worrying about.

I've made a concerted effort not to stay in Germany one night a week as
I really should because it means that at about 11pm I'll go and have a
couple of beers and then the cigarrette machine will start to look
better as the night wears on.

I seem to recall Brunstrom's on record as saying heroin addicts can work
as per normal ... so I guess they're OK as employees?

GM are known in the industry (apparently) as a healthcare company with a
    motor manufacturer attached.

I can understand insisting that whoever gets the job should abide by the
rules of the workplace, and if one of those is 'no smoking' then fair
enough. But to exclude a smoker who might be quite happy not to smoke
during the working day is discrimination as far as I can see.

Insofar as unfair discrimination is an infringement of human rights, it's
    out of order IMHO.

    Bollocks.

Unless you count commiting suicide as a human right as well (new debate).

Its a drug and should be banned, its worse than heroin.
