Er, DVB widescreen PAL, and region 2 DVDs, are at 720x568 - you've already
plenty of pixels. Assuming it's got the relevant connectors it should be
fine for many HD broadcasts too, though that's only going to be a near-term
issue if you're a Sky customer

We have Sky plus and it managed to record it for us... now how did I manage
before Sky plus.
