Non Ticket Conclusion...

Discussion in 'Bay Area Bikers' started by Larry xlax Lovisone, Aug 2, 2004.

  1. I got a Non Ticket... a rare gift bestowed by a patrolling CHP at a time
when my 90 mph cruise on Highway 16 is... what for it... FORGIVEN!!!

OK but most CHPs... once they turn around... once they play catch up...
once they find the guilty waiting patiently under a shade tree 3 miles
down the road... think they are being generous enough to at least
download onto your shoulders a lot of scary curb side advice... not so
with this officer... all he wants to know "was I having fun at 90".

FUN??? well I guess this CHP has seen plenty of speeders in these parts
and if I cannot hide my fault at least I should face it... "Yes Sir" I
    affirm... "at least 90"...

Now I've lit the candle at both ends and I'm feeling not so bright but
just when I should be reaching to sign the ticket book... we instead
    shake hands like gentlemen...

Now I'm having rosy thoughts of the future without the blues of traffic
    school again...

As I start from scratch and keep scratching I realize next time I can
save myself a hard fall by refraining from jumping to conclusions about
    the CHP and tickets...

Mr.CHP's farewell quote??? "be careful out there"...

Mmmmm. You are a danger to all law abiding citizens. In your arrogance
you decide that you do not need to obey the laws of the land. You should
have had your license revoked and your bike confiscated. Are we at Reeky all
supposed to snicker at your illegal activities? Is it cute that you ignore
the speed limits? Are you just a misunderstood "Good Ole Boy" out having a
little fun? What separates you from a Sen. Janklow other than the fact that
you have not yet killed anyone? Grow up or get off the road before you do
harm to an innocent person. You are neither funny, cute, nor a Good Ole Boy.
    You are an irresponsible child!

Phyloe, you should bear in mind that our country was founded by a bunch of
guys who decided not to 'obey the laws of the land'. And Americans used to
love the notion of sticking it to the man. The Boston Tea Party was thrown
for a 1% proposed tax increase. Prohibition spawned numerous flavors of
lawlessness, which have become accepted norms of culture, the most notable
now being NASCAR racing. We don't like tyrants and dictators, we crave
freedom. However, there is an element of society that is growing larger and
larger. They claim they are the most patriotic Americans to be had. They are
nationalists - America is the best, no matter what. But instead of embracing
freedom and rebellion that not only formed this country but made it
outstanding in principles and every facet of society, they denounce anyone
who is not mediocre. They ostracize those who don't toe the party line. They
are socialists. National-Socialists usually are referred to by a different,
shorter moniker, with perhaps a more fitting connotation - Nazis.

Good on ya', Larry, and congrats on finding a decent CHP officer - they are
few and far between anymore. You can ride with me anyday.

A couple of wheels and at least 3000 lbs of steel?
Oh, and a brain. Mustn't forget that.
Janklow sped through a stop sign.
Speeding when safe to do so is not a cause of very many accidents.

Perhaps. But I have a point. Have you bothered to look at the news lately? I
willing to lay odds that Phyloe is overjoyed at the "Free Speech Zones" and
the "Police Presence", and denounces anyone with a differing viewpoint as
    "Un-American" or "unpatriotic".

All I have seen is an out of control government acting like an occupying
army. Specific inalienable rights being violated on a daily basis. And
soccer-moms eating it up as "good for the country".

If over 76 governmental agencies wish to play as an army of occupation, they
should not be surprised when they are treated as such. At least by those of
us with some backbone and balls, who would rather go out and kick some ass
than to play along in the safety of cyberspace.

Root for the cops that you see on TV, batoning and beating a scared kid for
breathing without permission, beating down an old man for smoking the wrong
substance, or shooting an entire family while serving a 'no-knock warrant'
to the wrong address, they're just doing their job, right?

"Contemplate the mangled bodies of your countrymen, and then say, 'What
should be the reward of such sacrifices?' ... If ye love wealth better than
liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animating contest of freedom,
go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick
the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may
posterity forget that ye were our countrymen!" --Samuel Adams.

I realize this post puts me at risk for being insulted by some simeon
with an ISP, but I find it funny that ANYONE on a motorcycling list
would piss and moan about speeding: bikers speed... that is why they
want more than 30 BHP - to go fast. I am the slowest rider in my group
(most are Beemer riders) and I cannot keep it below the speed limit
(my rule of thumb is 5-10 mph above the limit). I have ridden with a
few of the folks ba.motorcycles and I cannot keep up with them. Bikers
speed - get used to it.

If you want to bitch, go to alt.retirement.shopping and talk about 15
items in the 12 item lane!!
