well, that's part of it, isn't it - like I said, they're trendy at the
    moment.

I agree - I'm going to have to get a cab from my place about 5am or
so, getting back about 9 in the evening - unfortunately, I've got a
6:30 flight to N.I. out of Stanstead the next day - have to up my
coffee intake on Thursday/Friday or get some Billy.
you've missed out - the exec lounge has free
beer/wine/newspapers/softdrinks/snacks etc. and when you get on the
train, a waiter comes and pours you a glass of champagne.

I'm thinking more about the amount of black guys I see nowadays on
    top-of-the-range sportsbikes - maybe it's a perception thing, but I
don't seem to remember it being a black thing even 5 years ago.
Scooters, sure, but not sports bikes.
looks that way, yes - because it's "a real bike", if you know nothing
    at all about bikes.

Ben Blaney bored us all completely to death with wittery prose along
    the lines of:
It is good, innit. I know that a certain Mr Corfield of this parish
isn't overly keen on the way that they run their services. If I'm not
needed for an early morning meeting when I go to the UK, I always take
the train. Otherwise I'll take the plane. And then only because
Heathrow is not too far from my company's UK office.
There's a lounge in Waterloo, but there isn't in Paris, IIRC. Business
class rocks for comfort. Even the grub on the train is good. Dunno
about free beer in the morning though. And I've not been on the train
since they introduced the high speed link.

technically, the absolute "do not apologise" rule was rescinded by
Windy, but in general you're correct.
I'd have to set up some sort of auto-responder.

    Fucking newbies!

You don't apologies on ukrm. Fight beyond all rational and reason to defend
your flawed view-point, yes. Get abusive or violent, fine. Issue
    death-threats, no problem.

But do not apologise and certainly not for attempted humour.

God, if that caught on Darsy would just be reduced to posting an endless
    string of grovelling "sorry" messages.

Not quite as much, but similar, yes.
Ah, so not as formalised as it might be, then.
Aye, prolly 50% German, 20% Anglo/American, 10% each Swiss and French
    and a few others.

You get used to it, I'm sure, and I think it probably breaks down some
possible barriers among the shier types, so it's probably not a bad
    thing overall.
Yeah, sometimes too much so, IMO.

No, it cos you were brought up in NI and lack our inhibitions. You
are in fact regularly committing ghastly social faux pas, but we're
    too polite to tell you.
