Yeah. I took a trip up to Galashiels to watch England get destroyed by
the All Blacks in the Under-21 World Cup. (I also saw Russia get the same
    treatment from Wales.)

Had a nice ride back, though - the start, anyway: the B709 is loads of fun.

I'm heading up to Edingburgh next weekend for a bit more of the One True
    Football.

I had an upholstery cleaner round to spruce up a few carpets a couple
of years ago. His wife had cancer and they were avoiding seeing
mainstream doctors. They were attempting to control the cancer with
diet, massage and meditation. I don't know what was the saddest thing
about it all: that she had cancer, that he really believed he could
help her, or the fact that ultimately, he wouldn't.

    <SNIP some genetics stuff>

Quite so[1]. If I'm going to pretend to be knowledgeable about something I
should at least give it a bit of thought and attempt some clarity.

    [1] Well, mostly.[2]
[2] I'm trying hard to resist the urge to quibble.

This is a bint thing rather than a vegan thing. Some women simply go
    through it by the ton.

Plus, thinking back to India, you naturally reach a point when anything
more than 2 squares is overkill.

I was present when The Mother of Them All was told she had bad news
cancer. The Oncologist basically told her that he would offer a
combination of mutilating surgery coupled with poisoning by chemical and
radiological means and that others would ply her with differing
    solutions.

He suggested that in any event she look closely at what was offered by
all as he had no idea what the cure was other than happy people seemed
to live longer than sad ones regardless of the medication they took.

    Two points:

    1. The third vowel sound _could_ be shortened to the schwa, but is
    often pronounced more deliberately.
    2. For many non-southern English speakers, there's virtually no
    difference anyway.
