I'm a newbie and only a pillion still - but for me there is a certain amount
of admiration I afford to those who've actually got mastery and skill of the
machine - and they are beautiful beasts there is no doubt.

I was on a long walk home from the station in rural England the other day in
leathers and carrying my helmet - hot as hell and bedraggled when a wee old
lady on a scooter tooted at me and waved with a big smile - she must have
been 80! It fairly lifted my spirits - and also that she's that old and
    still has oomph - IYSWIM.

I think the fusion of machinery and friendliness is Romance :)

    K

Take my advice, I'm not using it.

You appear to have me confused with Champ.

I can't stand Orgi, I only ever wear black denim and the only things I
like about the 70's are Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin.

Yeah, the leather just gets in the way of the whole scars thing.

Have you ditched the denim jacket over the leathers look?

I dread to think what you were like on the R30.

Which dictionary did you get it from, Champ? Because if it was the
OED, I'll supply dog with the name of the guilty party.

If I came across *anyone* on a remote country road in inclement
weather in obvious difficulties I'd offer to help. That's because
(contrary to how I may appear here) I am a decent human being. Not
    just a "biker".

I'd stop, that's for sure. I'd also stop if there was a car driver or any
    other vehicle user in difficulty.

ISTR that they resolved this with some sort of suicide pact with a
    neighbouring force.

Learners don't really pick up enough detail to spot waves and nods, 'cos
they're mostly fixating on the 20 yards of tarmac directly in front of them.

Has anyone seen this guy and Wizard together at the same time?

Have you ever nodded to a biker when you were driving a car?
