getting spark at the plug. It is a new plug and I replaced and
adjusted the points today. put a new battery in today too. I am
getting spark at the points, but nothing at the plug. what to try next?
    condenser? plug wire? Help.

  2. Does that motorbike have a battery-and-coil ignition system, or does it
    have an energy transfer magneto?

If it's battery-and-coil, you should get battery voltage on the
positive terminal of the coil when you turn the key on. You would have
a wire going from the switch to the ignition coil. That means you need
a good battery in the motorbike.

If it's an energy transfer magneto, you have a low voltage coil inside
the flywheel and the spinning magnets induce electicity in the ignition
coil on the frame. You wouldn't need a battery. The wire from the
ignition switch would ground out the ignition points when you turned
the switch off. You wouldn't even need the ignition switch connected to
the wiring harness and the engine would start.
