Geez - look what happens... A few trailer queens take off and nobody's
posting (except those of us who couldn't go and are jealous as heck).

Well, at least I can look forward to some good ride reports.

That's only because everyone who posts regularly here was in Mena and
riding through the hills in Arkansas....you better get that new HD of
yours hooked up and start riding with us if you want to get in on the
fun. Posting here in this newsgroup is just for the "downtime" when
we're not hooked up riding someplace.

BTW, Friday was good riding in the Arkansas mountains. I managed to
get these new tires good and scuffed in where I wasn't slipping and
sliding everywhere. By the time we hit the good curves and I took a
few at speed, the tires melted down and got great traction. I mostly
went just over double the posted signage. There was a couple times I
got caught by surprise and was too deep into the throttle to back off
in time. Those couple times I ended up triple the posted. The signs
said 40mph and I was into them at 120. One of the times was when I was
passing a truck with Jerry and Bjay. I over-shot the truck, and
couldn't get back behind Jerry without sending a black/grey missle
into his back. I tried with Bjay and over-shot him too. I ended up
having to hammer the throttle a bit more than I should've and had to
dance the Blackbird through the curve and way beyond what should've
    been.

When the rain started, Morgan Kane and I were going from Ft Smith to
Mena from picking up a part for his bike. We were dragging a group of
sportbikes behind us and I had to slow down when the rain hit because
I couldn't see through the mucky shit being slung on my visor. That's
okay, because we made it to the steakhouse just fine and had a good
piece of dead animal. Thanks for the company, Morgan! I enjoyed the
ride with you and enjoyed the time spent also.

I got home and found a new TomTom Rider waiting on me. I unpacked it
and powered it up. Got it programed for the most part, and starting to
get used to it. Morgan told me about a site that he downloaded poi's
for his at, but I forgot to get that info before we parted. I'll try
out this new gps this week and see how I like it. I *did* find
something about it that I liked....I can plug it to my laptop through
the usb and have all the controls/voice through the laptop and use the
gps for just the receiver. That's a cool feature I might someday use!

Okay, time to spend quality time with my family. I managed to make a
good ride from Mena to home. I wanted to stop and take it easy, but
the closer I got to the house, the less that plan appealed to me. I
rode from Texarkana to my house without a stop! Running about 90-100,
I managed to pull into my drive at noon. As soon as I got into the
drive, my wife was opening the door and telling me about the many
places I needed to go with her. Quick shower and change of clothes
took care of any bugs and road shit I had on me. I guess the Blackbird
will be next to get a bath!

    Later y'all!

Thanks Brian - I couldn't go but at least I can picture it now. To add
insult to injury I'm primary on-call this week. Up until 3:30am Sat back
up at 9am dealing with ID10T errors. A beautimous friggin day too. And
i'm at home but still stuck to a friggin desk.

I think it bothered me more today whenever I heard bikes going by and
knowing I wasn't going to be able to join in. I kept telling myself
"year-round riding in Texas". Next week i'm heading up to Philly for a
few days to setup the network in a new office. No bike but at least i'll
get to see my siblings and enjoy some Philly soul food (cheesesteaks,
    hoagies, tastycakes, etc).

Yeah, I have to head out to Miami, then up to Milwaukee, then back to
Miami....then out to LA. Hopefully the geriatric Canadian (illegal
alien bastards!) people have had it with tearing the shit out of Miami
and left by now....and left the pretty girls and good weather to the
rest of us. The guys up in Milwaukee had my boss tell them I'm into
motorcycles (my whole office is heavily decorated....even though I'm
never in there) and it turns out they are too. We were on a conference
call a couple weeks ago and they said "we hear you're into
motorcycles?". I told them I was. The majority of the conference call
was talking about motorcycles and how they plan on getting me onto one
of their Harleys and ride around. This was especially enhanced when I
told them how little time it would take to get their system installed.

What's the name of that famous philly cheesesteak place there? Sal's
or something? There's two right across the street from each other and
both have huge lines all day long.

No, no! I remember! It's Gino's! Has a big assed neon sign. If you've
never checked them out, it's worth the wait! New Jersey (the place of
"no left turns"...I found out the hard way!) is your old home, isn't
    it?

Shit! I *WILL* rag on your ass! Now you just can't keep up! :)

Seriously, I rode along there for a few minutes and looked in my
mirror to only see a small speck of a headlight (yours) and figured
what you were doing. I started to stop in SS and wait on you so we
could get something to eat and rest, but I looked at my fuel and
started thinking about the little time I would have with my family as
it is. I also didn't know how far back you were. I figured the rate I
was riding and you, having your cruise on 70mph, I was probably about
20 - 30 minutes (easily) in front of you when I got to SS. I also
didn't know if you'd stopped at Mt Pleasant or the Love's truck stop
    on the way.

Did that happen again? And I missed it? Was I not sent an invitation
    this year?

Well, did you manage to keep from getting hysterical and dropping your
    motorcycle?

    Originally from New Jersey but I got to Texas as soon as I could. ;-}

Down on South St in Philly is Pat's Steaks. I never got into their
version but there's a few smaller ma & pa shops in town and in NJ
with excellent food. I'm going to have to remember that when I ask for a
coke I'll get just that - a Coca-cola. I better start practicing now
on the Jersey accent. My wife says it comes out strong when I'm really
pissed off. I guess I'll start thinking about Greyhound again - that
    should work.
