Ah ok, I thought it was still with the previous owner.

I hear they're quite clued up down at PDQ. I might get mine on a dyno at
some point, I'm told it made very good figures the last time it was
tested, it'll be interesting to see just how true that is.

Have they told you what was causing that?

As well as a K+N filter, my 9R has a dynojet kit fitted. After asking on
9R forums about whether or not the rumours of them being crap are true,
they reckon it was only the earlier kits that made the emulsion tubes
wear out. If they lasted more than 2500 miles then you have the later
kit. Mine's been fitted for over 3 years, so must be one of the
good/later ones. Carburation on my bike is faultless all through the rev
range, even with the stock can back on the bike. It had a Scorpion race
can fitted when I picked it up but I didn't like the excessive noise,
hence the Quill T3 it now sports.

I also put the gearing back to standard when I fitted new chain and
sprockets. I haven't thought about wavy discs yet :)

It's wonderful, much smoother throughout the whole rev range than any
other bike I've ever owned. I'm really intrigued as to just how much
power it really does make, because I've heard some very good claims for
it. I ought to ask Dick exactly what he did to get it like this.

I'd suspect it was something along the lines of putting in the time and
effort to get it right, rather than any cunning wheeze.

I saw one of them in the metal outside Skellerns[1] in Worcester the
other day. It is a very nice bike. They had a dark metallic red one
    as well.

[1] Anyone ever used them for servicing? Just thinking about the
GSXR's service later in the year and they're about 10 minutes walk
    from my office.

Yeah exactly, you didn't suffer too much did you? And I commented at the
time that Wik seemed faster on the R1150 than he had on the ZX12R before.

Well, now it's entirely back to standard, with OE jets and exhaust
(inc. silencer), and the price was a mere 2bhp off the top end, in
exchange for a midrange fatter than Lisa Riley.

    Or, more importantly, "cheap"

Jacket, black & silver with a bit of blue, 50 quid.
    Trousers, all black, 80 quid.

Almost worth having to spend time in Slough, that was. Cheap, with
    added "mix'n'match' aesthetic!

  19. Can't help with Worcester, but you had any dealing with Knotts in
Stratford? Bit of an odd location[1], but actually seems a decent place
on first impression. Currently trying to resist the very low mileage B12
    they have in.

[1] Looks like a rough unit on an industrial estate, but when you get
    inside it's actually rather nice.

Nope, never used them. Round here I've only used Streetbike in
Halesowen and Sutton Motorcycle's Tamworth branch[1].

[1] The Sutton branch completely ignored me when I went in looking at
a Bandit 12. The chap in the Tamworth branch couldn't have been more
helpful with the Thou and did a cracking deal.
