DT175 now has a Genuine Yamaha oiled-foam air-filter element, courtesy of the fine ladies at the Kawasaki shop opposite West Drayton station. Cost £7.53 -- M&P wanted £9.99 (plus postage one presumes). Now, how does one measure transmission oil level with a Yamaha dipstick? Screw it all the way in, or just rest it on the threads (like a Honda)? I've got enough oil left over from Black Kat's last change so I might as well make sure it has fresh oil in it. I used to work there in the late 70's When it was called ABC Formerly R G Smith, big in Nortons. So what? Yeah I know!
Well the sun's gone for a rest behind a few clouds and I'm expecting it to piss with rain later in the afternoon when I collect the bike after they've finished servicing it. That's if they finish it today because I raised a small 'issue' and it might take more than an afternoon.
I get the same feeling here. Just took the DT across to the Garden Centre on a shake-down and came back soaked -- the humidity is so high. Oh well, guess I'll be off in a little while dodging showers... -- Ivan Reid, Electronic & Computer Engineering, ___ CMS Collaboration, Brunel University. Dr Ivan D. Reid says... That Michelle's[1] ok, isn't she? I quite fancy her. Rest it on top of the threads on all the Yamahas I've had, in a Honda stylee. Good [1] The younger of the two, the other one is her mother. Mind you, her mum's lovely too.
My SRX manual said to rest it on the threads rather than have it screwed in. -- Alex Hermes: "We can't afford that! Especially not Zoidberg!" Zoidberg: "They took away my credit cards!" www.drzoidberg.co.uk www.sffh.co.uk www.ebayfaq.co.uk
Yes, not bad at all. Tho' I only noticed the old Triumph up above the shop today -- I'd probably take that instead. I seem to have overfilled it a bit -- either the Haynes book has the wrong capacity or I'm shit at estimating 600 ml! Still, it got me there and back, at just on two hours each way -- total of 114 miles. Let's see, it took 4.8 l at 64 miles = 13.33 m/l = 60.5 mpg = 21.4 km/l. It was cold enough that I volunteered to do the cooking, to stay near the warm barbecue...
