A family member has just received a NIP from the welsh police for doing
95mph on a motorway in a car at about 10am on a Monday morning. Good
visibility, and was caught by a camera not a janitor. What can he expect?

Would they be able to do him for Dangerous off a picture or just the
    speeding offence?

fish emerged from their own little world to say
I've been done for speeding twice in S Wales, both for 95 on a dual
carriageway. However, it was a while ago and all the points have gone from
my licence so I don't know what latest policy is. Also, I was done by an
officer on both occasions, same outcome - fixed penalty, 3 points.

Does the NIP offer the option to pay the fine? If it does then the relative
    should pay up pronto.

If there is no offer to pay the fine then it is likely that they have
toughened up and will deal with it in court. 3 points & a bigger fine is my
guess unless the driver was manoeuvring in a "dangerous" manner e.g.
    undertaking.

95mph on motorway should be 3 points and a fine. If offered, grab it and pay
    up.

  6. Wouldn't have thought so. I just got done(pulled over and cautioned at
the time) for 94mph on a dual carraigeway in a van (limited to 60mph). Was
going to be a ban but was dropped to 6 points and 200GBP fine but dangerous
    wasn't even mentioned

I seem to hear more of this around Christmas time and I certainly see more
of the filth out in there traffic cars nicking what appears to be everyone
in site. I think they need to boost their stations funds at his time of
year. Oh, sorry. They don't get any reward from this do they?!

  9. Of course not, that would be unlawful ;)

I'm quite happy to be chastised over motoring misdemeanours because it
gives them the opportunity to point something out to me that I must've
missed in the hundreds of thousands of miles I've ridden/driven.

Cor, if it wasn't for the constabulary, my roadcraft would be a fucking
    nightmare!

What's the difference between an urban motorway and a normal motorway
    then?

  12. I've got a feeling that they can put speed limits on an urban, like what
they do in South Wales(Swansea area). Mainly motorways that go through
cities with alot of buildings on the hard shoulder, Leeds springs to mind
    as well
