Works fine on a proper newsreader. Just you guys clinging on to OE
that have trouble, it seems. Time you junked it and got something
proper - there's still a free version of Agent available, IIRC, which
will solve all your problems for you,

Will let you know the reasoning when they reply to his letter, I suppose it
could have been some kind of adminastative error, but looking at the
paperwork all seems in order, when referencing the offence code it points
soley to not disclosing change of details.
    Oh sorry, my friend Paul.

Anyway, it was just a cautionary post,

What's the code? All the offence codes are on the web, and I don't
recall one to do with "change of details".

REally? So what's the endorement code then? And does it appear here
    http://www.dvla.gov.uk/drivers/endorsem.htm ?

Not sure but it started with an "L" and it was not listed on the web that is
why he has written to them.

I wonder if it has anything to do with the fact that he took his motorcycle
test without updating his change of address first, if so then that would be
    a bit harsh.

  6. I took my motorcycle test (and passed) even though my motorcycle
entitlement had run out. I didn't notice until afterwards but sent the
pass cert off anyway and came back with a spangly new licence.

He got his new license ok and it includes his new motorcycle category, he is
not even that bothered about the points being that they were back dated and
    run out next January,

It's just the £200 he is not so keen on.

Well, I got back from a week in sunny Egypt to find that autumn is now
very definitely with us, with daytime highs of only around 20C for the
next week or so, and clouds, showers etc. The pool water's now down to
20C too, which is far too cold to use.

    Better?

Ben, may I take this opportunity to apologise for not only hijacking your
thread but also failing to make any effort in the task of raising your
    spirits.

I hope you can find it in your heart to forgive me if I offer my reassurance
that it will not happen again.

    Yours with sensitivity, D

Naah, that'd just be _silly_. Not to mention painful.

Still an extremely pleasant 40C here. And the pools have
    water-cooling devices.
    Much - ta!

Butbutbut, it's *Outlook* newsreader. Oh sure, it may look and act exactly
like OE but it's the snob value...

I realise a dedicated newsreader prolly makes a better job of it, but OE
does an almost adequate job. Anyway, look:

    Made me laugh.

It seems to be the "Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable" line
what's doing it for some reason.

Err, no. Sadly the newsreader that comes as part of Outlook is in fact
Outlook Express, as shown in your headers:

Heh. We never quite needed them this year, with 32C being the maximum
water temp we recorded, but I can see why you would.
Oh, and it's started to rain - drizzly stuff, it seems. Very grey
    outside too.
