They were out with one of those on the A465 this lunchtime - think it
was a Ford Courrier thing though.

Also spotted one on the side of the road just after the Abergavenny
turn-off at the bottom of Black Rock Hill.

I'm usually out early enough to avoid them, but had been looking in on a
colleague's store this morning. Fortunately lots of people were flashing
    to warn oncoming traffic.

Oh bugger. TBFTGOGGI. Hope you do find a way out, and if you don't that
the beak got well and truly blown on the relevant morning.

Now, excuse me, I have a workshop calling. ;^)

    NINJA!

    Bad luck Mr Pip, Sir.

I hope the photo comes through and shows something completely different.
Like a gold Allegro or something

DVLA wrote to me twice this week - once thanking me for telling them
I'd sold the Renault - and once reminding me that the tax on said
Renault would expire at the end of this month ;-)

I'm aware of the Renault(1) needing tax. I had the Golf sorn'ed but
they claimed it wasn't on private property so I waved goodbye to £80:-(

    (1) You were right about the torque factor, managed to outdrag an
escrot turbot up a hill the other week which pissed him off even more
    than I had before :)

    Oooh **** :(

Tell us what day any appearance might be, so we can come and heckle
the three poor fools who are just before you, just to set the beak's
mind on "agitated", then you can appear all charm and common sense!

And when you write, make it Recorded Delivery, and get the delivery
receipt. A colleague of mine had *weeks* of grief with letters
apparently not being received by the court :-/

  13. I have also just had a NIP - for 48mph in a 40 zone. And on that bit
of road I keep a *very* sharp look out cos I know it's a favourite
    cash generation zone..
Likewise. I had a intense desire to use the camera
to measure the speed of flow in the operators colon :)

Just re-read this thread due to a new posting, and thought I'd drop in
    my farthings-worth.

The Dorset lot around here have a recent toy which is a grey box about
the size of a speed camera but is mounted on legs and ends up about two
feet high. It sits at the side of the road with a cable running back to
the van which is normally hidden in a layby.

Their other favourite is to sit the box in the triangle between a main
road and a slip road with the van on the grass on the other side of the
slip road, and catch people on the main road as they pass the junction.

Maybe you caught a similar device - would explain the low angle and not
    seeing it.

Good safety device - really slowing you down.

    What a crock of shit.

The safety aspect is you don't know if and when you are going to be
caught and the threat to your licence and bank balance is such that you
ride/drive everywhere within the speed limits all the time.

That's the whole point; to keep speeds below the limit.

For the 'anti' campaigners to argue that the camera sites cause more
accidents and then in more or less the same breath call for higher levels
of visibility is probably not that helpful.

The country's roads have speed limits it's the law that you stay within
those limits. If you choose not to it's a calculated risk.
