Last weekend I resisted a very tight very well filled tee shirt trying
to sell me a helmet cover (oo-er).

Might have been a different story if it was a female filling the top of
it rather than a bloke filling the middle of it.

    Fourthed
    <snip much funiness>

Personally I don't find it makes stuff quite that waterproof, but I save a
    fortune on handcream.

  4. Scumbag! :)
That Loz. I reckon he was a public recycling site worker in a previous
    life. :)

Yes I had a hand <groan> in the development of the original Pole
Position gloves. George Lloyd - he of Lloyd Lifestyle/Akito/OGK
helmets fame - purchased Swift Leathers from my wife and me in May
1994, and the gloves were one of the earliest projects I worked on.
So, a "Penrith Swift" product, not a Northampton one. I left LL in
November 1994, because I needed to move on and George was starting to
get some stick from the rest of the industry over employing someone
(me) who was in favour of product standards.

I am a little out of touch with what George is doing with the Swift
brand of late. He used to send samples of the new ranges to me, but
this has dried up - perhaps because George is away from Penrith more
than he is ther nowadays, and others are in charge of the day-to-day
running of the operation. That's my impression, anyway.

I wasn't aware of this, looks like I'll be blagging a set of Vipers
instead, when I'm up there next week.

As she did to me. She didn't polish my boots though ;-)
Oh she does indeed. I'm going up to see her soon.

Would you like to look over the Swift Podium one-piece suit that I
coughacquiredcough. I think it's quite a good suit and easily worth the
350 quid they are priced at.

  10. For clarification: I didn't get to keep any of the suits George sent
down to me. I merely gave them the "once over" before sending them
back with comments. What I saw back then I was happy with, so I was
very disappointed to see the Podium's placement as joint
second-from-bottom in the August edition of RiDE.

The poor burst test result would be very easy to correct - there are
three reasons why a poor burst test result occurs - and in doing so
would permit an optimisation of the performance of the suit by
achieving a balance between the tear resistance of the leather (which
was slightly above average) and the burst strength of seams (which
indicates to me that I only need to consider two of the three possible
    reasons for the poor result).

I can certainly look at your suit, but do you really want to hear my
findings if they are what I suspect they will be?
