What, and spoil the Annual Leather Treatment discourse? It always
happens, usually just after the "My bike won't start/My visor mists
up" threads and just before the Great Annual Carb Icing Debate.

    You can't buck tradition, laddie.

    Well, let me see.

    <concludes>

By not chopping their fucking feets off, that would be a start.

    No.

If you do it in Volvo that's even worse.

    HTH.

'ere. I was looking for your one-piece riding suit at the NEC, without
success. Did I miss it because I missed it, or because it wasn't there?

  9. The manufacturer missed the deadline, but the first prototype suit (a
two-piece, BTW, and not "mine" in any sense, because a colleague owns
the IPR and a seasoned motorcycle clothing manufacturer will be
producing it) arrived in the country on the opening day of the NEC
show, has already been assessed by two police forces in the last week
and they are going to trial it. Another police force has indicated an
interest without even seeing the suit, on the basis of my technical
    description alone.

On one visit, a police officer put the suit on, with the garment in
its 100% wind-permeable form, rode his Pan European up the road to the
first roundabout, and back, and pronounced the ventilation system
highly effective in an ambient temperature of 9C! :) I have my name
down for an early civilian version. ;-)

The suit sidesteps all debate on which leather preservative is "the
    best", by the way. :)

I used "your" as shorthand, obviously )
Well, I'm quite interested too. Any idea when it's going to be
    available?
Oh yes, we'll have an argument about which proofing to use instead. I
    reckon Nikwax TX-Direct...

  13. Understood :)
For the "boys in blue" (well, saturn yellow actually): early in the
New Year. For civilians: I hope not too long afterwards.
    LOL!

Went to the Belfast bike show today and finally fell victim to the Renapur
sales girls. Thought it might be nice on the new Dainese. I may be gone some
    time....
So how warm should the Unction be at applicaton Grand Master Pip?

In accordance with the Sacred Texts carried on the Worshipful Website,
20 Celsius seems like a safe bet - a warm room temperature. The
Unguent should spread but not flow, requiring application with the
fingers, luxuriating in the feel of warm beeswax and silky leather.

Rubbing and kneading, circling and sweeping, stroking and sliding ...

    <gulp>

Leave your accoutrements in a warm place overnight, in order for The
Unguent (makes twiddly Sign of the Holy Pot) to be fully absorbed.

There is a clear historic link to Windy's Rejuvenational Practices with Baby
Oil. The rythmic hand movements are a giveaway.

  18. Heh. I'll let the manufacturer concerned handle the marketing. My role
is purely technical and information is posted here because I happen to
believe it is an exceptional product.
