When an ex employer (Over 8 years ago) calls you out of the blue to tell you there's a job going at a place they used to work at, and you have already noticed it in the paper it's nice to know that keeping in touch and being friendly to the old employer makes the difference between getting and not getting a much better paid job worthwhile when they are asked for a *verbal* reference. So, bollox to the cunts where I am because they cant/wont/ aren't allowed to match the offer or improve the conditions etc and I start me new job at 4k more than I are earning and less paperwork/responsibility on the 14th of June. That'll do nicely ta! -- -- Robbo 1500GL 1988 Goldwing (Rebuild in process) BMW K100 RS 1984 "Fairly Quick" status. Silver level BotaFOF #19. E.O.S.M 2001/2002/2003. Strangely enough same prices round here too. It'll make a fair difference to me actually, also means the overtime will be a LOT better too. -- -- Robbo 1500GL 1988 Goldwing (Rebuild in process) BMW K100 RS 1984 "Fairly Quick" status. That'll be £150 extra in the Klingon 26 month calendar, yes? Or you talking *after* tax? Then again even if it was 40% taxed and 9% NI'd it's still £170 extra a month..... Dave (pompous maths-twat)
WavyDavy secured a place in history by writing: Inadequately pompous. NI is charged at 1% above the UEL, so the likely scenarios are BRT + NI or for an HRT payer, HRT+NI = 41%. Hence £4k*0.59/12=£197
Well *obviously* that's the case, I was just sounding out the very worst possible case scenario........... Honest.....
WavyDavy secured a place in history by writing: I don't actually think it's a possible case. ISTR the UEL for NI is below the threshold for HRT, but I can't be arsed to go and check. Somebody who will leave us in the shade on the pomposity front will probably be along soon.
