Indeed, that's darned impressive and, as others have said, it's his
    launch technique that's the key; it's an "anti-wheelie" :)
AIUI, it's t'other way around -- one "straps" the front-end down, either
with a pukka kit or, often, just using ratchet tie-downs. "Lowered"
refers to the rear end -- ride height is lowered, often by a shorter
shock or removing the shock entirely and replacing with a length of rod.
    Mind-boggling, really. Our purpose-built Super-Gas car cost around £50k
to build and could run low 9s [1].

It's also a smidge quicker than a stock -12R or a 'Busa, both of which
have been seen to run mid-9s.
    Hehe, howdy, people!
    :)

[1] Of course, that's not the point of SG :)

As well as lowering CofG, in theory, it also makes it more aerodynamic.

    Stumbled across this, too :)

Oh, not a lot. Shitloads of work, not much play. Still have the BMW
for the moment but it hasn't turned a wheel since October.

  5. Using the patented Mavis Beacon "Hunt&Peck" Technique, Champ
Nah mate. Lardy old sports tourer, that's what you've got there.

Taking the tank bag off might improve the power to weight ratio a bit.

    Then try painting it red.

Used in Supermoto a lot. Hoik the front end down on the suspension,
clip a little clippy wossname on and viola! instant lowered and
    non-extending front suspension.

It un-clips as soon as you grab the brakes so giving back the normal
suspension travel. Makes a big difference to the start, as you say, no
wasting power / forward travel to just extend the suspension.
