Nice Melbourne weather today! :)

I took the afternoon off so I've gotten my odo to 650KMs.

Did the Warburton to Marysville and back again stretch of motorcycle heaven.

Weather was absolutely perfect and there was NO other traffic. Correction:
One GSXR1000 or 750 passed me on the way out, and I had a total of 3
oncoming cars and 1 logging truck on the way back for the winding roads.

Some high resolution pics / primarily focusing on my GSXR600K4. Warning, do
not open if you're allergic to yellow. I thought a few of the shots were a
bit clever though (primarily the top left one).

I love this new bike. And I really like its looks.

    Cheers,
    Jørgen

I just got back from a lap of Reefton spur myself. Home - Kinglake -
Healesville - Marysville - turned off at Lake Mountain and rode to Gerratys
and back - uturned at the bottom of Reefton spur and rode back home much the
same way with a stop at the Marysville Bakery for lunch. Encountered some
holdups on the Black spur where there are a few spots of roadworks between
Narbethong and the picnic ground. Single lane through the roadworks and
traffic lights controlling traffic. They appear to be fixing all of the
corners where the surface was lifting off after the previous lot of
roadworks. They'll probably be finished by the end of the week or the
    weekend.

Andrew E Dunne? Is that you? At least I'm not hiding behind an anonymous
address and making snipe remarks every year.

I'm still thinking someone else as well shouldn't have been so close to the
middle and that it was a very close call on who was to blame that day.

Being new to the country I bent over backwards in accepting that I might
have passed over to the other side of the road. Now I don't accept that this
was the real thing that happened.

In reality what I think happened is that you came close to the centerline,
looked at me, not beside to the left of me... and that I looked at you too
and we both acted like magnets to each other. Me being on the inside of the
corner, energy of movement made my bike land in the "wrong" side of the road
    after the impact.

I was a new rider and didn't know first hand about perils of hitting brakes
in mid corner - it makes the bike go straight - and I've learned oh so much
more after doing some what should have been essential courses
(superbikeschool) but you _being the more experienced_ should certainly have
loosened the turn just that little bit and we would have both been fine.

Or was it so that you were such a super hero who just because you've been
riding for a few years more than me. How many courses had _you_ done before
    that ride?

My name is Jørgen Smith and I had an incident 1 week after I started
riding, going around a hairpin/tight turn in said area I had a head on with
who I believe is the above person. Both were same insurance company; I never
got the proper details about what the outcome was - but think it was pinned
on me because I accepted that I might have come into the wrong lane. But it
wouldn't have happened if someone hadn't been cutting the corner close
    towards the centreline.

I've got the guts to stand up for myself and not make sniper remarks. And
for your information I did yesterday's ride as if there was traffic coming
around on the centreline through every turn.

You've made several mistakes here.. the first it to name an individual and
make remarks that might cause a defamation lawyer to see dollar signs, the
second, is to pretend that identifying yourself as a variation of "John Smith"
removes anonymity and the third and undoubtedly the worst, is to give details
of your stupid fuckup which apparently resulted in an accident and which will
no doubt lead to copping an absolute hiding in this forum for trying to
apportion blame for your accident on someone else.

Geez you're a ... oh, actually, that sums it up nicely.

Still, it could never have happened on a yellow bike.

Yep. You are right, that was stupid. I guess it's been a long week and that
I was having a knee jerk kind of reaction to that post, referencing
something that happened very close to 4 years ago. Not very mature.

I've cancelled my post for what good it might do.

Oh well, cast me out of the good community - I guess it is deserved.

Thanks. 35c phew - that will be pushing it.

Going to Norway on Sunday - that should allow for some cooling down. It's
very mild there now, though, just around 0-5c. I was hoping for some bone
    chilling temperatures, oh well...

Nice! My version was a fair bit shorter, but I'll look at the maps and try
to do that route the next time. It sounds like a great one.

Road conditions were great, only thing to watch out for is all those
leaves - I suppose they would get quite slippery if it was to start raining
a bit. Not a problem in the dry though. Conditions of the roads I touched
    on were great.

    Cheers,

0.My middle initial is R. ;-) Have you also met an Andrew E in a
    similar incident ? ;-)

    1. Incident occurred at Big Culvert, Marysville to Cumberland Junction road.
    I still ride there occasionally.

    2. At the point of impact between the motorcycles, I was approximately 1
metre from the gravel on the LHS of the outside of the right curve, braking
hard and going straight for the gravel to give you room. Swerving to the
left would have taken me onto the gravel whilst leant over. This curve is
cut into the side of a hill. The wall part of the cutting is on the LHS of
the road, gravel verge is approx 2 metres (perhaps 3) wide before the
vertical wall of the cutting begins.

2a. How do I remember that stuff ? After my bike was removed for laying on
me by the Tail End Charlie of your group, I was able to walk around and
observe the scene of the crash.

    3. The fact we had the same insurance co. is not relevant to anything.

    4. You could have responded to my first comment with a simple agreement or
    disagreement with my statement.

    5. I was asked by the attending police officer if I wanted to pursue any
further legal action against you. I declined.

    6. Who was it that gave you a lift back to Melbourne after being discharged
from Alexandra hospital because there was no public transport for the rest
of the day ? My partner who drove to Alexandra from home, took you and I
into Melbourne CBD to drop you off, before taking me home. If you get
involved in another accident (and I hope you don't), perhaps the other
participants may not treat you so nicely.

    7. This is a public forum. I can read it anytime without announcing my
presence. How many regular posters also don't use their full or real names ?

    8. I don't doubt that you are now a better rider than you were at the time.
All this news posting/websites about hero pegs, boots, knee sliders etc is
great for track days, and I hope you have fun on them.

    9. aus.moto is full of people having a go at each other, mostly it is good
    natured.

    10. Don't expect me to be very civil if I ever meet you again.

    11. Keep posting to aus.moto. Some of your stuff is priceless.
