Nice commuting incident

Discussion in 'UK Motorcycles' started by Steve Bullimore, Jul 2, 2004.

  1. Trundling along A13 into central London when shite old Datsun pulls
out of side turn causing me to swerve to middle of road to avoid, horn
blazing, followed by usual hand gestures.

As I carried on I check mirror to see blokey behind on Thunderace ride
alongside Mr Datsun and smash his o/s mirror clean off with his fist!
    I burst out laughing.

Next set of lights, Thunderace chappy pulls alongside obviously well
pleased with his revenge as he shouts excitedly 'I got the cunts
fucking mirror - did you see'.

Ahh, sets you up for the day, that.

And people wonder why motorcyclists have such shining reputations.

It wasn't me, though I have been known to do the same thing on occasion.

He could be encouraged to buy a new one with the helpful safety message -
"Vehicles you can see in the mirror are behind you".

    Me.

OK, I was attracted to bikes by the "reputation" and er.. the fact they
    were cheap.

However, I'd like to be able to ride bikes for a while yet before
    they're legislated off the road.

Wankers behaving like some sort of fucking vigillante over incidents
like this which are due to a lack of attention and not malice will
hasten the day that bikes are legislated off the roads, or at least
    policing gets harsher.

I really do despair, what's wrong with people?
